AED Use on Infants in Cardiac Arrest Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are appropriate for use on anyone in cardiac arrest, regardless of age, including children as young as newborns. When available, rescuers should use pediatric settings or pads when treating children and infants. If pediatric equipment is not available, rescuers may use AEDs configured for adult victims. The use of an AED should be used along with high quality CPR.
How to Incorporate "AED Use on Infants in Cardiac Arrest" into Training Courses
Compression-Only CPR Based on scientific evidence, the American Red Cross supports Compression-Only CPR (continuous chest compressions) as an effective alternative when: a bystander is unwilling, unable, untrained or unsure how to perform full CPR (cycles of chest compressions and rescue breaths) and; a bystander has witnessed the sudden collapse of an adult. learn more...

We’ve Moved
The South Arkansas Chapter has moved. We have purchased the “West Plaza” building at 2710 North West Avenue, Arkansas 71730. The building is located behind Aaron’s and Taco Bell on North West Avenue, next to the new Ashley Furniture store.
For phase one of the project, we have moved into the south side of the building (use to be the Armed Forces Recruitment Center). This gives us a lot more room for training and for storing disaster equipment.
For phase two of the project, they are building us a new Chapter Office in the rest of the building. The new Chapter Office will include office space, a Volunteer Room, a large classroom, a large conference room, a Service to Armed Forces Resource room, a communications room, and tons of storage space. Construction has begun and should be completed by the end of April.
