Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
By the time you read this information, an American will have died from sudden cardiac arrest. More than 200,000 Americans die of sudden cardiac arrest every year, and up to 50,000 of those deaths could be prevented by a trained person initiating the Cardiac Chain of Survival and using an automated external defibrillator (AED). Disaster Alert Arizona – A bus, traveling from Mexico to Los Angeles overturned in Pinal County on Friday. Multiple fatalities and injuries reported. The Grand Canyon Chapter deployed DAT, contacted local and state government agencies and communicated with neighboring chapters to place additional workers on standby.

Earthquake in Chile: Update

The American Red Cross has doubled its pledge for relief operations in Chile to $500,000. 5,000 jerry cans will also be shipped to Chile for relief efforts from the Red Cross warehouse in Panama.
